PPRS Monday Card 12-16-13

On the card "Warm Winter Wishes" I used  CLR009A Christmas Trees 2 Clear Stamp Set, CLR020 Holly and Berries Clear Stamp Set (that's the glittering stuff you see around the edges, a little pine piece), D040 Pine Branch Die Set, CLR037 Fall Leaves Clear Stamp Set, DD0188 - 2 Birds with Holly, Sm.
Yes, still having problems with my photo editing and/or photography. Maybe all that Iridescent Supersparkling embossing powder didn't help either.

Prickley Pear Monday Card

Saw this in a magazine and had a little light-bulb go up. "I have a similar PPRS stamp, just got chipboard tags in and that little trial bottle of red Silk paint!" I thought.

And voila'! May I present the card "Let It Snow".

Here are stamps and dies that that I used.
DD0184 - Let It Snow, stamped on the PPRS-D038 -  Snowflake Pendant die and FF0148 - Snowflake Tree which I white embossed on a chipboard tag later painted with Carmen red Silk paint.
I used my absolute favorite tool from Prima and "rasped" the edges of the snowflake paper and the tag. The red ribbon is actually stenciled, using Tim Holtz' "Dot Fade stencil and Art Anthology's Sorbet Paint "Frost". All of Art Anthology's paints are dimensional, so the dots are raised and shimmering.
I love shimmer.
The Silk paints shimmer - so I had to order some of them. Could only afford about half to start off. But that's because I also ordered some Twinkling H2O's. They'll be up in the store by tonight. As will Tim's stencils.

Winter Sled Class Change

A few things came up, and I am running behind. Imagine that!? (Sarcasm.) So this weekends class is being moved from Saturday to Sunday 12-8-13 at 1:00 pm. And we're looking at cost of material instead of class fee, $6.00 instead of $10.00. I know, I over charge for my classes. (Sarcasm again.)

So, come play, we'll decorate our sleds together, using paint, paste, paper, ribbon, stencils, stamps and whatever else we can find. I can't wait!! Laughing

Snowflakes in the South for PPRS Monday

I called this card Snowflakes. Even though the stamps are all Poinsettias. But, with a snowflake pattern.
I used CLR031A - Poinsettia 2 Holiday Clear Stamp set and the die PPRS-D031 as well as the sentiment from CLR027B - Scalloped Oval 3 - Winter - Clear Stamp set.
The paper is by DCWV, I picked it up at JoAnn's at one of their sales. Had been looking for blue Christmas paper all fall.
So, as you can tell, nothing difficult here, just a lot of layering.

PPRS Last Fall Card for me

Pumpkin Patch

On this card I used GG0176 - Leaf Pumpkin, DD0180 - Leaf Pumpkin, Sm., and the sentiment EE0171 - Hope all is Well. The small leaves were punched with one of the dies from PPRS - D037 Leaf Set. The larger branch is from CherryLynn Designs. I colored the pumpkins with Copics, filled in the scrolled lines with a green glitter pen, used various colors of glitter glue on the leaves and to outline. The leaves were cut out from a tag that I had sprayed with Colorations sprays a while back. The metal corners were painted with "Silk" paint. Mostly.

Hey Local Gals and Guys!

Finally, I'm going to start up some play-dates and classes again.

And yes, I know this is short notice, but for those of you who know me, this should not come as a surprise. lol

Prickley Pear Blog Hop!

Hi and welcome!

If you're following the Prickley Pear Blog Hop in order you just came from Jessica's Blog.  I'm sure everybody has told you that one lucky "commenter" will win a prize package, so make sure to leave a comment.

.
I sprayed my tag with Colorations Sprays, Lark and Denim, and blotted a little. Then I painted a quick layer of Sorbet-Frost on top, just for a little shimmer. Sprays and paint by Art Anthology. I stamped the new release stamps HH0150 - Snowbunnies in the middle, FF0054 - Merry & Bright below. Then I stamped DD0172 - Sm. Swirls & Snowflakes in silver and GG0160 - Swirls& Snowflakes in white all the way around the edges of the tag. (And a little further in too.) Then I embellished, silver ribbon, matte blue stones, sparkly stars, snowflakes and coordinating ribbons through the star brad at the top.

Thanks for visiting, and hop on over to Tracie's blog. She's next on the list.

Doesn't feel like Monday PPRS Post

Here I used the Prickley Pear Stamps  HH0149 Amaryllis, HH0083 Mary and Baby Jesus, CLR033B Flourished Ovals 2 Holiday, D033 Flourished Oval Die. I used my Copics to color, imagine that, and Pumice Stone Distress Ink to age the edges a little.

Delicious Autumn - PPRS Monday Post

The other day I watched a video on the Art Anthology blog, and loved the project.
So here is my version.
I sprayed my tag with Colorations Sprays, Timeless, Paprika and Pesto. Then I painted a quick layer of Dimensional Crystal - Blizzard on top, just for a little shimmer. Just like Stacy Rodriguez, who did the original project,(http://artanthologyinc.com/blog/?p=1450)
I used the Velvet  Truffle and aged the edges a little, then used it to "ink" up my stamp and stamp along the edges for some interest. The main image/sentiment I stamped in black Archival ink.
These are the stamps I used, and they are from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. HH0081 - Delicious Autumn and CLR037 - Fall Leaves Clear Stamp Set.
I do carry Prickley Pear Stamps and dies in my store as well as the whole line of Art Anthology Products.

Monday Afternoon PPRS Post

I kept it simple this week - used Nutty, sm. (isn't he adorable?) - EE0170 and the Pumpkin die - D008, and plain Pumpkin stamp from the clear stamp set Pumpkin Patch - CLR008. Both images were colored with Copics.  Being the fussy cutter that I am, that's what I did with little Nutty. On the Pumpkin I sprayed a little (nah, a lot) of Goosebumps - Shimmer. The mats are Sizzix dies, and I tied some twine around them adding a square button with a leaf impression. I used sponged Distress ink around the edges to tie it all together. I honestly don't remember which color I used. Oh, the pattern paper is Autumn Song by BoBunny. Still have one left in stock.  Hint-hint!

Kroma Crackled Tin.

If you haven't checked out the Kroma Crackle, you should. Cool stuff. It took me a couple of tries before I got it to turn out right. Should have read the directions the first time, and remember that everything takes longer to dry in a humid climate. Like Florida in the summer. Here is a picture of my little tin. 1. A base coat of acrylic paint. 2. Kroma crackle paste. 3. Stampendous Jumbo Fall Leaf stamped in Archival ink. 4. Various colors of Art Anthology Sorbet paints. Ta Da!

Funky Paisley!

This is one of those pieces that you are never really done with. After I glued on the beads today I decided to be done.
For now.

I used an 11 x 14 canvas, a stencil  from Art Gone Wild by Catherine Scanlon, and white embossing paste. Then I pulled out my Art Anthology Paints. I used the Velvets on the actual paisley and the Sorbets, with their sparkle, on the rest. Stamped, colored and cut out some Dyanne Reaveley stamps as accents. The sentiment in the middle is from a Chocolate Baroque set - Artistic Affirmations.

Here's a close up.

"Adirondack Chair" Card for Prickley Pear

There is nothing like a cool, clear fall day. Imagine sitting in your lovely chair, reading, snoozing.....

I used JJ026-Fall Adirondack Chair and CLR027A - Scalloped Oval 2 - Fall - Clear Stamp Set, all from Prickley Pear of course.
I colored the images with Copics  and sponged Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to age the edges.

What Makes You Happy!

This is a stamp from Art Gone Wild by the designer Catherine Scanlon, called "What Makes You Happy". So I used colors that make me happy, lots of glitter and bling.
 Here's a link to the stamp: http://www.thestamproom.com/makesyouhappy.aspx

Frightful and Delightful - PPRS Monday Card. (On a Wednesday.)

I love this Scary Cat and Bat Clear Stamp Set and the coordinating die.  I also used the Spiderweb Gate die and a few images from the Scalloped Oval 2 Fall Clear Set (CLR027A).  I colored "Kitty" with Copics and the pattern paper is by DCWV.

Prickley Pear Zombies

Here you have FF0163 Daisy The Zombie, FF0162 Charlie the Zombie, D039 Spiderweb Gate Die, D029 Bat Die, CLR033A Flourished Ovals 2 Fall. It took me a few times to get this to look decent. I think it's fun, but then again, I love Halloween images.
Click on any of the links above, and it will take you to the Prickley Pear page in my store - www.thestamproom.com.

Fall Box Tutorial with Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps

This is my Fall Box.
I would like to give credit where credit is due - and I got this idea from an article in the Craft Stamper Magazine, by Christine Dark.

1. For my box I choose a small USPS box.;

2. Tape or glue the inside tabs down and cut the side tabs off.;

3. Cover the edges with masking tape to finish the edges.

.   4. Cut cardstock to fit box top and sides.

5. Gesso the box, you're probably going to do a few edges twice.

6.  Gesso the cardstock pieces, but don't go all the way to the edge.  Distress the edges, I used Vintage Photo Distress ink, and then stamped the leaves from PPRS Clear Stamp Set - Fall Leaves, and Fern Green Wendy Vecchi Designer Series Archival Ink.

7. Stamp leaves from the PPRS Clear Stamp Set - Oak and Maple Leaf,  on the gessoed craft cardstock.
I used Memento Dew Drops to color the stamps, putting a few different colors on each stamps. Colors I used were Rhubarb Stalk, Bamboo Leaves, Tangelo, Morocco, Sweet Plum and Cantaloupe. Sprinkle a little bit of Stampendous Aged Embossing Enamel lightly.

8. Add a few die cut (Oak & Maple Leaf (PPRS-D018) , and stamped leaves, Oak & Maple Leaf Clear Stamp Set, using same colors, and pop-dot them. I outlined the images in black marker, to make them stand out a little more. Using the same black marker I hand drew scribbly lines along the edges of all the cardstock pieces.

9. Rub some Inka Old Gold around all the edges. Punch 2 holes in the top and run twine through them. Tie the twine together using a button as an embellishment.

Prickley Pear Weekly Card

Here is The Steampunk Tinman (JJ0084)  from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. He measures 2 x 4 3/8.  I colored him with Copics and tried to make him look a little rusty in a few places. Sorry about the image not being very sharp and too light.

Paper Doll Tags

I love these Mixed Media Paper Dolls by Julia Nutting from Prima Marketing.

On the left tag I used Distress Stains (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry). They match perfectly with Graphic 45's paper Bohemian Bazaar. So I "fussy - cut" various flowers as well as the border on the right side.
The tag on the right side was a lot of fun to make. I saw a project on the Ranger website, http://rangerink.com/?ranger_project=faux-suede-graphic-gears-tag-book , where they sprayed the tag with ink refresher, crumbled it up and straightened it out. Then dusted different colors of Perfect Pearls all over.
I also stamped little swirls and a spider web and made her a little crown.

Prickley Pear Halloween Card

On this card I used the stamp set Flourished Ovals 2 Fall, Flourished Oval Die and the little kitty - Retread. The background papers are from K&Co.

Prickley Pear Card

I used stamps CLR033A Flourished Ovals 2 Fall Clear Set, D033 Flourished Ovals Die, EE0170 Nutty, sm, CLR027A Scalloped Oval 2-Fall Clear Set, obviously from Prickley Pear.
I love the adorable little squirrels, they are so cute! They were colored with Copics, as were the leafs on the wreath. The fall swirl is from the Scalloped Oval Set and I used it for corner embellishments.

September Newsletter

September already! I can't believe it. I hope everybody had a great summer and that you're ready for some serious "playing".
We have gotten lots of new things, and more is on the way.
Lots of new  stencils from various companies, 12x12  solid color paper from Bazzill. The white is great with Copics, it takes the markers completely different from the Copic X - Press It cardstock, which I normally use. The colors come out darker it seems.
Speaking of Bazzill - we have their  Halloween paper "Arsenic Lace" in 6x6 pads. Both the patterned and solids.Graphic 45 came out with a  Steampunk Halloween line this year - "Steampunk Spells", also in stock in all sizes, stickers, tags and stamps.
Art Anthology added new colors to their  Velvet paints, and we were the first store to carry them. :) They will work great with the  Finnabair art journals we got, as will all the other Finnabair  and Prima items that's come in.
We have added  Impression Obsession to our line of stamp companies. I love their stamps and dies.
Got a few stamps from  Viva Las Vegas, primarily by the artist Mary Vogel Lozniak.
The new  Memento LUXE ink for mixed media work is in, and most of the  Wendy Vecchi Archival ink colors.
Wow, that's a lot ! No wonder my credit card balance is high. I'm sure I've forgotten some things. Oh yeah - I added more  PanPastel colors and got  lots of different sponges in.

OK, now on to the  September Sale!!
The CLEARANCE section will be 60% off this month. Lotsa good stuff in there.
The whole "Sentiment" stamp section is 40% off. The same goes for the CHOX inks and reinkers, pretty much all of Kaiserkrafts 6x6 paper pads and stamps, all Lawn Fawn stamps and various summery and floral stamps. Oh, and the Spellbinder dies. I think that's it.

Any questions - email me at kina@thestamproom.com.

PPRS Monday Card

Here is The Steampunk Tinman (JJ084) walking down The Yellow Brick Rd. I colored him with Copics and used Glossy Accent all over. Along the sides of the road, there are some Steampunk flowers from the clear stamp set Gears 2 (CLR025A). I used the Gears die (PPRS_D025) to cut them out. The Yellow Brick Rd was made by using a brick embossing plate, then filling in the cracks with embossing paste.

"Sleepy Hollow"

Even though it's still summer, the Fall stamping is in full swing.  This semi spooky tree is "Fall Tree" from Impression Obsession, a new vendor for us. The tree is colored with Copics. I also used the "Sleepy Hollow" stamp from Impression Obsession. I thought they went well together.

Art Anthology Velvet Paints!!

The new Velvet colors came in yesterday! Velvet Paints are a dimensional paint with a velvety mate finish that has a beautiful subtle shimmer.  http://www.thestamproom.com/velvet-mattefinish2oz.aspx
I love them, can't wait to paint something. Just got some Jumbo Fall leaves from Stampendous in -  they could be awesome!

Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Monday Card

Unless I'm too late posting it to our group. I tend to run last second, never mind last minute. lol
If you follow the PPRS Blog, then you know they have had some "Sneak Peeks" of their new stamps. And even though they don't have them in their store yet, they have been selling and shipping early to other stores. So yours truly already has some of the new Fall, Halloween and Christmas stamps in. Just check my store and see, I got red rubber, clear sets and dies. And I will be getting more.

Apparently the good old Kaleidocolor ink pads are making a comeback, because they came out with some new colors at CHA. So I dug one of my old ones up and used it to stamp the image and sentiment from the Clear Stamp Set Fall Leaves (CLR037). The dies I used are  Flourished Oval (PPRS D033) as well as the Oak & Maple Leaf Die (PPRS D018).

Prima!!

I forgot to tell you that I got a BIG shipment in from Prima Marketing!
Finnabair's new stencils, stamps, resist canvas (unfortunately her paper is on back order) and more. Julie Nutting's Mixed Media Dolls, and big acrylic blocks to fit them, as well as her "Buff" Paper Pad. We got various tools, LOADS of embellishments, including some flowers. There's more, and more coming because they backordered a few things.

Thursday, August 15, 2013

I finished a canvas!!

I actually finished a canvas.  And used all kinds of products! Ready? Chipboard corners and winged heart key are from Make It Crafty, the paper doll stamp is from Prima, by Julie Nutting. And I used Graphic 45 "Steampunk Spells" paper for her dress, hat, wings and flowers. Metal embellies are from Prima, I used Andy Skinner's stencil "Incognito" on the tag background, using Distress Inks, and also along the right side with Golden Embossing Paste. The steampunk stamps on the bottom and corner of the tag are from Vilda StampsThe canvas itself was painted with a bottom layer of Black Gesso, and then  Bronze Distress paint and a few swipes of Broken China. Finally I went for my little jars of  Inka Gold and rubbed on various colors in various places.
Wow, the was a long list! And I've got all of this available at/in the store - The Stamproom.

Prickley Pear Card

On this card I used the Dragonfly Clear Stamp Set (CLR011) Dragonfly Die(PPRS-D011) and the Dragonfly and Rosebud ATC background stamp (HH0091). Oh, and the Round Circle Scalloped Die (PPRS D013).
I stamped the background with Versamark, then covered/colored it with turquoise PanPastel. I stamped the lg. dragonflies with Delicata ink and heat embossed with JudiKins Egyptian Gold embossing powder. I did the same to the edges of the background.

And PPRS is in the house!

I'm sorry, the computer. And I still need to order more! So many of their red rubber and clear stamps work together. Then add the dies in..... ohhh, I'm in trouble.

Prickley Pear Card

I punched out lots and lots of different size flowers with the Poinsettia Leaf Die PPRS_D031 and then stamped them with Fired Brick Distress Ink using the Spring Poinsettia Clear Stamp Set - CLR031. The Paper is by BoBunny. I also used Fired Brick and a Brick Stencil on the background.

Prickley Pear Monday Card - 7/29/13

On this card I used 2 different stamp sets and their coordinating dies, Spring Flourished Ovals Clear Stamp Set (CLR033) and Flourished Oval Die (D033) as well as Blobby FLowers 2 (CLR015A) and Blobby Flowers Die (D015). I used Copics to color, B21, 23, 24 and RV52, 55 and 00.
And, as always, my photo taking and Photo Shop skills suck, lol, I can never seem to get the colors right.

Last Monday's Prickley Pear Sample - Bloom On!

This card I called "Bloom On" for obvious reasons. I used Clearly Beautiful Hibiscus (CLR002) and the coordinating die Hibiscus Flower and Leaf Die (D002)
The die is by Spellbinder, "bling" by Want2Scrap and paper by DCVW.

Bad, bad Blogger!

I really am, and I apologize. BUT, getting myself and my life ready to be gone a whole week for the CHA convention just took up all my time.
So, the CHA convention was fun. Vegas was cool (actually it was incredibly hot and dry, my eyes burned when I was outside, which wasn't much.) I spent WAY too much money on new merchandise for the store. Look for lots of new stuff from Prima Marketing, Ranger, Tim Holtz (Distress Glitters - woot-woot), The Crafter's Workshop, Bazzill Papers and more. I added Impression Obsession Stamps and Dies to our list of new vendors and we have an awesome new medium called KROMA Crackle coming in from Canada.
I also just placed an order with Chocolate Baroque for Christmas and Halloween stamps (primarily). Tando Creative for Andy Skinner Stencils is next. This will be a busy week for me, adding all the things and ordering what I didn't get to (or were not represented) at the convention.

Just In!

Just got replenishments for Andy Skinner Stencils/Masks. And a few other ones from the company that carries his.
Also, our last batch of chipboard embellishments from Make It Crafty. Here is a picture of those:

Next I'm uploading the new fun Mixed Media Paper Dolls from Prima. Should be in the store to buy within the hour.

Prickley Pear Flower Cluster

A friend of mine told me she had pulled out her Twinkling H2O's, the other day. So I decided  to do the same. I misted my pots and let them sit until they were a little "gooey". The I painted/dabbed the stamp  "Flower Cluster" (GG0145)  and let the paint dry on there.
Once dry, I misted it lightly and stamped. You can get numerous images out of this. You will have to re-mist, just don't over-mist like I did. LOL
I used a Spellbinders die set for the mats, hand painted a white polka dot ribbon with 2 of the same colors I used on the flowers.
I used the Mini Butterfly die (D023) and punched out 3 butterflies, which I then stamped with one of the stamps from the "Mini Butterfly Clear Stamp Set" (CLR023). A little glitter glue around the edges finished the card off.

Thursday, July 11, 2013

PPRS Thursday Card

I stamped the "Wildflower ATC Background" (HH0100M) on the ivory cardstock and the pink background paper. "2 Daisy Heads"  (GG0074M) was stamped on chipboard that I painted with Antique Linen Distress Paint, then I "doodled" and added little bling around the edge, and pink glitter glue on the Daisies. I used the "Rosarian" paper collection from Prima and black cardstock for layering,  and chipboard photo corners from Make It Crafty.

Seaside

It took me forever to finish this. I had everything at hand, just couldn't find the time to put it all together. So I hope you like it. :)
The stamp sets are from Crafty Individuals and are called "Beside The Seaside" and "Seaside Treasures" and I used a mini chipboard printer tray from Tando Creative. Oh, and the little bit of background paper is by Glitz, called "Uncharted Waters". All of these items available in my store - The Stamproom.
