Prickley Pear Monday Card...

...is actually not a card at all this week.
I'm have a box full of these little vases. So I figured - "Let's stamp and paint a few!"
I used the Wildflower Garden (JJ0037) red rubber stamp from PPRS. I colored the image with a 1/8 slanted paint brush, using mostly the Velvet paints from Art Anthology. I also used their Dimensional Crystal for a dot here an there and to do the flourish on the bottom of the stamp.
So...what do you think?

PPRS Monday Card - Wild and Punky

OOPS!! I'm a little late posting this today.

Prickley Pear's Wildflower Garden (JJ0037) got a little steampunked. I stamped with Memento and colored with Copics as usual. Pulled out green ledger paper and used for background, gears and photo corners, that I punched out using the PPRS die Mini Gears D035). Behind the first layer of ledger paper is a background that I made a big sheet of. I glued various ribbons and laces onto cardstock and then sprayed the sheet with Colorations Sprays from Art Anthology.
Last, but not least, I glued on itty-bitty gears called "Tiny Junkyard Findings".

PanPastels in single pots.

Finally broke down and ordered some PanPastels in singles. Meaning you can pick your own colors. If you haven't worked with these before, they are amazing! I have always loved the chalk look, but never been able to achieve it myself. I would have chalk dust flying everywhere. Not with the PanPastels, nice and creamy, goes on and stays on, blends like a dream. Great for backgrounds, but also for detail work. I ordered some of the Sofft line spatulas and foam tips, since they are made for each other. Literally I believe.
Here's a link to where Donna Downey explains what PanPastels are, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEwDrnrtg3A. Then if you want to she gives online classes at her website.

PPRS Monday Blog Post

Those of you who know me, know that anything Steampunk inspires me!

Steampunk Inspiration

On this tag I sprayed the background with Plush, Vineyard and Cinnamon Toast Colorations by Art Anthology. I then stamped "Gears Background" (GG0045) in Delicata Gold once the tag had dried. I used the new clear set "Steampunk 2, CLR025A" as well as the older one, "Gears, CLR025" and both the old and new dies, "Steampunk Gears, D025" and "Mini Gears, D035".
And as always, my Photoshop skills are lacking. The detail and color just never show up for me.

JOFY Minis

I had lots of fun again!! Well, when stamping, when don't we? It's taken me forever to finish this little project off. The stamps are from PaperArtsy, the JOFY Minis 9, 10 and 11. I colored them with Copics and cut them out. I cut out chipboard and put down a thick layer of Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint. After that dried I went over it with a little Distress Pumice Stone Stain and blotted the excess off, then images were glued on. I made 4 hinges and finished off the back with a little brown paint and decorative paper.

Monday Prickley Pear Post

On this card I used the Clear Stamp Sets "Butterfly 2" and "Mini Butterfly" and their corresponding dies. The butterflies were colored with Copics, and I then found paper to coordinate. The large circular background die, as well as the little one, is a Spellbinder die. And, as always, the colors on the actual card look so much better.

Prickley Pear Monday Post

This line of flowers from Prickley Pear is just so much fun!!! First the Blobby Flowers 2 Clear Stamp, and the Spring Flourished Ovals Set had 2 stamps that matched, now for the Summer release Field of Flowers ATC (HH0030), Flower Box (GG0048). On this card I also used the Spring Flourished Ovals Clear Set and the Flourished Oval Die.
The background is just white paper sprayed with Art Anthology's "Vineyard" Colorations Spray. Love it!  The ATC background was stamped in black on top. The flowers were all colored with Copics - I have found that the V20's matches the "Vineyard" really well.
On the bottom I used a Tim Holtz scallop die. Then my trusty Stickles (ok, maybe I went overboard with the lime green around the frame just a little), and voila!
